Are Your Employees Motivated? E-mail
"Employees who are hardworking and highly motivated are essential for a business to succeed."
Employees who are hardworking and highly motivated are essential for a business to succeed; however small or big the company is. Employee job performances get affected if they begin to lose their motivation. It eventually leads them to become less creative and less productive, thus, making them a least asset to the company.

Here are ways to help you get your employees motivated to be more productive; ready to give their best:

Develop a solid foundation. This would make employees feel that they're devoted to the company. Every new employee should be made sure to have experienced an absolute welcome orientation by telling them how the business started and what its visions are in the future. At the same time ask them what their expectations and career goals are, as well as how you can make them feel part of the organization.

Establish an environment which is positive. Encourage a workplace atmosphere that is more accommodating to make employees feel their worth and importance. Let your employees know that they can always approach you of any concerns, plus do away with favoritism in the office. A happy workplace is a productive one.

Place them on the correct path. Work on each of the employees to build up a plan for their career growth basing on their present skills and expected goals. This would make them feel enthused about what's about to come, thus, they'll be much more active with their current jobs.

Provide education and training. By providing in-house career growth or on-the-job trainings, you'll be able to aid in improving the employees' skills. Thus, making them feel important since the company is investing much to give them the needed workshops, seminars, and industry related education for them to be adequately competitive.

Always recognize any contributions. Always be generous with praise. Acknowledge each of the employee's accomplishments or contributions to the company, however little or big it might be. This will make them feel valuable.

Offer incentives. Incentives don't need to be too costly if the company couldn't afford much. Something as small as a gift certificate or tokens of appreciations like "Employee of the Month" will make employees perform better. Salary increases or performance-based incentives can also be given.

Stick to your promise. Make sure to stick to any promises of monetary bonuses when productivity increases. Putting up such promises might be essential to make people perform their best but failing to accomplish such promises may just lead to loss of trust. This could very well affect all employees and the company as a whole.

Offer career guidance. Professionals in the workplace may need career coaching to help them learn how to overcome any professional or personal barriers in their career. Providing them with individual counseling and on-site coaching will eventually help them to perform better for the next level.

Complement tasks to their skills and talents. Designate employees to tasks that you'll know they will be good at or enjoy being in. A specific employee who's doing well at one thing is going to be confident and will be more motivated to deal with other projects with improved enthusiasm and energy.

Always remember to have fun. It doesn't always have to be all work. Sometimes taking a break off from work would do well for everyone to have a rejuvenated energy and be able to perform their best again. A company team building or any related activities can be scheduled for that relaxing bonding moment with your co-workers.
